Welcome to Winter Sunshine Coast Style
Don’t let the season fool you, the winter experience here on the coast is not what you would call traditional winter weather. Thanks to the subtropical climate of Queensland, the winter woollies are only out for a short period of the year and the sun continues to shine all year round. This makes it a wonderful holiday destination and in particular, the Sunshine Coast has some of the best holiday offerings to make your winter getaway full of activity and the temperature stays consistently reasonable throughout the winter months.
Whether you’re planning a getaway to make the most of a few days full of activity exploring the Sunshine Coast or that downtime full of relaxation and rejuvenation is needed, there is plenty on offer for our guests at Mandolin Resort. We’ve put together a list of our favourite activities this Winter all near our resort at Alexandra Headlands, Sunshine Coast.
1. Stroll across the road and take a walk from Alexandra Headlands to Point Cartwright
Whatever pace you decide to take, explore the coastline on one of the Sunshine Coast’s most popular walking tracks. Make your way across the road from Mandolin Resort and from there head East and continue along he footpath through Mooloolaba to the colourful muraled Lighthouse at Point Cartwright. If you go the full way, the 8km journey will take you over an hour taking in part of the Sunshine Coast’s beautiful coastline. If you decide that a a shorter walk is more of your liking, the walk from Alex Heads to Mooloolaba is just 2.4km (25 mins) and will directly lead to a great selection of boutiques, restaurants and cafes.
2. Enjoy a game of Mini Golf at our onsite course & BBQ area
Our onsite Mini Golf course is a great activity for all ages! Accessible to residents and guests of Mandolin, enjoy our 9 hole site. Located next to our BBQ area, cook up a sizzle for lunch or dinner without leaving the complex.
